>Offered here is an old and original 1950's-1960's YARDLEY Of LONDON vintage store display sign for fragrances!! Please see all six photos, as they are an important part of my description. From a wonderful local estate that featured some choice vintage advertising pieces, this very rare and colorful "Try on a New Personality!" vintage Yardley's advertising display measures approximately 23" high x 11 1/2" wide x 9" deep (measured at its widest points), and features thick die-cut cardboard attached to a golden metal rack which once displayed the company's popular fragrances. This vintage sign also features colorful artwork of three elegant women, in attractive pastel colors. The perfumes featured here include: Yardley English Lavender, Yardley April Violets and finally Yardley Bond Street. The perfume titles are enhanced by adjectives such as "Fresh", "Sophisticated" and "Romantic". This point-of-sale store display lists the fragrance pricing at $1.50 each. Outstanding colors and stylish design abound in this vintage Yardley store display! >History: Yardley of London is a British personal care brand and one of the oldest firms in the world to specialize in cosmetics, fragrances and related toiletry products. The company is named after William Yardley, who purchased the firm in 1823. Yardley's signature scent is English Lavender, which is present on the offered store display. In 1967, iconic model Twiggy became the "face" of Yardley. Soon after, Yardley became a symbol of "Swinging London" and was associated with the 1960's British youth culture of miniskirts, Carnaby Street and mod fashions. Condition: this vintage store display does exhibit age/handling faults (see details under "Seller Notes" at top of listing), but is extremely displayable nonetheless!
