1908? Lid/Cover (POOR CONDITION) to Display Store Chocolates Container - Says: “Ambrosia – Pure Milk Chocolate For Eating and Hot Fudge on Ice Cream”, for scooping out onto your chocolate sundae. Plenty of surface rust and rusted away at bottom. The store clerk could also lift the lid and scoop for you a paper bag full of chocolate candy. Born in 1935, I remember the metal framed glass lids, but didn't grow up in an area that had such an old store. I've had a few metal display containers; seems they were stainless steel; and still have lids for both like this one but this is the only one or part of one that is labeled chocolates.
