VTG 7-up SANTA CLAUS Stores-Floor Display SAFEWAY (6ft tall) “1968” 56 yrs. old
Hello, we’re listing this vintage (1968) 6ft. tall Santa Claus statue, that was the main feature of a gigantic 7-up promotion in Safeway Stores in the SF Bay area. This statue was in the Safeway store, located in Oakland, on Red Wood Rd, just above Highway (13). After the promotion, my son asked if he could have it. It has been well kept, and covered most of the time, for over 56 yrs. Only the base, that was made of thick cardboard, has been replaced with a wood base, because of weakness. The new base is a triangle shape: 24″x3/4″x18″s in wood. The statue is still firm and clean for its age. Updating the hair would give it a fresh look but might change the original beauty.
