Incredible Rare Art Deco Sign-O-Merit countertop cardboard sign with interchangeable letters in near unused condition. Manufactured by Modern Sign Works, Chicago. Original price on back $1.50. Has two sheets of letters that only have five letters ever used and they are what are in the sign currently (placed by a previous owner). Also contains the original “suggestion page”. This would have been used on a countertop in a drugstore or retail shop c. 1931. Beautiful art deco graphics and strong colors of red, green, gold and black. In great condition. Minor scratches and some minor wear to edges and corners (see photos). Amazing to have survived in unused condition. Measures 22”x14”. A beautiful piece of antique advertising that would be stunning in any modern kitchen, restaurant or business.
